  • Wait---I'm not THAT old. I grew up reading newspapers, watching TV, listening to radio. The news was NOT just local, hon. Believe me, suicides happened all the time. But mainstream, middle class families were NOT killing themselves and their children at the drop of the hat like they are now.

  • Every day another murder suicide. Men and women and young people from all walks of life and economic situations, are more and more quick to pick up a gun and shoot. Once was a time when desperate folks tried killing themselves, and sometimes could be talked out of it.

  • Same old story--people break laws, and when the police try to stop them the criminals cry "Brutality!" even as they kick and punch the police who a) reminded them of the law broken b)warned them to comply or face arrest c) read them their rights.

  • I have a better idea; why don't the top 1% accept a smaller amount of the profits so that all the rest of the people can have a halfway decent standard of living ? Do they really need to make 500 times the amount of the top middle class wage earners that you are feel are overpaid already ?

  • OWS folks are in a fantasy land if they think their tactics are accomplishing anything constructive at all. This will descend into riots and violence if something is not done soon---just like Europe, which burns regularly, yet nothing changes. What an awful model/example for our young people.
